The Hub and Switch Character in GWonMac

Search places, people, characters, builds, settings and prices from inside Guild Wars with the Hub, and swap characters with Switch Character.

The Hub is one search box over the game. Type what you want, move with the arrow keys, and press Enter.

Hub

The Hub finds the tools you have turned on, plus places, people, characters, saved builds and teams, accounts, settings, and calculations. The footer names what Enter will do. The header shows your character and where you are.

The game keeps running while the Hub is open. Press Escape to step back, and again to close it.

  • Turn on: always on, even with Tools off. See Hub in Settings → Tools.
  • Open: ⌘ R in a game window, or View → Hub — Command Palette. If you gave ⌘ R to another feature, that feature wins and the menu item still opens the Hub.
  • Limits: a tool that is off does not appear in search. While a map loads, at character selection, or in PvP, rows that cannot act stay in the list and say why.

What you can do with a result

  • Enter runs the action named in the footer. A result that changes the game or your account, such as travelling or switching character, only becomes selected when you click it. Press Enter, click the footer action, or double-click to run it.
  • Right arrow opens a result's page, where it has one.
  • ⌘ J opens the Actions menu. There you can pin a result or give it an exact search phrase.
  • ⌘ ⌫ goes back one level from anywhere, including a text field.
  • Hub preferences (search for it) reorders your pins and removes saved phrases.

Prices and currency

Type an amount and in or to: 1 stack ecto in p, 100k + 10e in a. Gold and platinum convert offline. Items use trader quotes and recent Kamadan advertisements, and say when they were seen. A result that starts with ~ is inferred from advertised prices. Search rates to enter your own rates.

Switch Character

Switch Character shows your characters as cards. Choose one and the game signs in to it without going through a logout. It also works from the character-selection screen.

Each card shows the profession pair, such as Mo/Me, and marks PvP characters. Start typing a name or primary profession to search.

  • Turn on: Switch Character. It works without Enable Tools.
  • Open: ⌘ E, View → Switch Character, or search char in the Hub. Press Enter, click Switch to …, or double-click a card to switch.
  • Settings: Show profession, Show level, Show location.
  • Limits: in an explorable area it asks "Leave this area and switch to …?" first. While a map loads or in active PvP, it does not switch. The number keys 1 to 9 and 0 select one of the first ten characters but never switch. Names and search text are not saved.
